Obituary of Cynthia M Price
CYNTHIA (CINDY) MEDFORD PRICE passed away on Sunday May 3rd 2020 in the I.C.U. of P.R.M.C after a long battle with a sepsis infection. She was just 7 days short of her 70th birthday on Mother's Day May 10 2020.
She was born Cynthia Jane Medford on 05-10-1950 in Salisbury, MD and was the daughter of her loving parents, the late Robert N. and Ernestine G. Medford, and a daughter in law of the late Clarence F. and Agatha J. Price.
Cindy attended East Salisbury Elementary School, Wicomico Jr. High School, and in 1968 she graduated from Wicomico Sr. High School.
(National Honor Society) She then earned her RN from Union Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Baltimore MD. Later she earned her Batcheler’s and Masters degrees, as well as doing work towards a PHD.
In 1971 she married David Price in a beautiful, traditional, ceremony at the Trinity United Methodist Church in Salisbury Maryland,
and went on to become a "Fifty Plus" year member of that congregation. Even with a hectic schedule she kept quite active in many church activities. After a long career in nursing, she had even been studying "Biblical Greek".
No matter how busy, she always took care of the family she loved so dearly. For many years she worked nights so she could manage daytime activities. Cindy was a woman of deep faith, a loving, devoted, caring, wife mother and grandmother. She loved and was loved by too many people to count.
Early in her nursing career at PRMC, she was the first to train for dialysis. Other areas of critical care work included SCU, CCU, and ICU.
She took a break from nursing and went to the NY school of Dog Grooming as she tried her hand at pure breed dog showing.
In later years Cindy worked mostly in geriatric nursing. At one point in her career she was a nursing home assistant administrator.
Cindy had also been a nursing educator at Worwic Community Collage.
She was a member of Salisbury Kennel Club, Fireside Homemakers Club, Salisbury Cotillian, American Collage of Nursing Home Administrators, Union Memorial Hospital Nursing Alumnae, Quota Club, and Sweet Adelines. Cindy had a love of life and an adventurous spirit. In her love of travel, she had made plans to visit the Grand Canyon, Alaska, and Oberammergau Germany for the passion play. Sadly, it was not to be. Cindy and Dave were in their 49th year of marriage at the time of her passing.
She is survived by her husband David Price, four children, Jonathan Price, Kaitlyn Stanley, Jacob Price, Susan Lewis, four grandchildren, Nathaniel, Tonya, and Eric Stanley, Branden Smith , a sister and brother in law Martha and Glenn Marvel, an aunt, Janice Simpson, a sister in law Carolyn Cornine, five great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Because of the Covig-19 epidemic, any services would be limited to 10 people. No services are scheduled at this time. The family plans to have a memorial service at a later date. Cindy is in the care of: Holloway Funeral Home, 501 Snow Hill Rd., Salisbury, MD 21804.
