Obituary of Loran Robertson MR

Loran James Robertson, 96, of Salisbury, died Friday, March 4, 2011. Loran was born October 29, 1914 in Cedar Hall, VA, the son of the late Dallas and Bertha Robertson. Loran retired from the US Navy with 32 years of service and was a decorated veteran of WWII, Korea and Vietnam. He worked for the State of Maryland and was a 3rd degree Mason and member of Tall Cedars of Lebanon and was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Mae Hastings Robertson; daughters, June Vetra and her husband, Henry and Gayle Robertson; son, Michael Robertson and his wife, Paula; stepdaughter, Debbie Sollars and her husband, Dave; stepson, Phillip Hastings and his wife, Vivian; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildrenl; two great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Patsy Guy and her husband, Bill; several nieces and nephews; and a brother-in-law and good buddy, Homer Gravenor. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marybelle; son, Carroll Robertson and a great grandson, Brandon Vetra. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, March 11, 2011 at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Springhill Memory Gardens in Hebron. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in his memory to the Liberty Church of Christ, 1313 Old Ocean City Rd, Salisbury, MD 21804 or any charity of your choice.
