Obituary of Myrna Hyman Wright

Myrna Hyman Wright, 89 Years, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2020 at Coastal Hospice at the Lake in Salisbury, MD after a sudden brief illness. Born in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late Manuel Hyman and Dorothy Heckleman Hyman. Myrna graduated from Coolidge High School in Washington, DC and began her administrative career working for the Communication Workers of America, Local 2108, followed by the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association during which she earned her Pinch Hitters Pilot Certificate for successfully taking off, flying and landing a private plane without crashing as her family watched in awe. Myrna retired from the National Science Foundation (1970-1990) and, as a future thinker, launched her real estate career five years before her retirement from federal service. Simultaneously, Myrna independently owned and operated Residential Property Services, Inc. II for 25 years until the end because she loved being active and working from home. Myrna was equally devoted to her property owners and tenants and their feelings were mutual. In 2012 at age 81, Myrna embarked on yet another career as a mobile notary signing agent while maintaining her rental property management company. Myrna was a highly skilled Mah Jongg player, loved teaching the game to others and winning quarters from the “Thursday MJ Gang.” Myrna was an avid pet lover and, over time, had two cats, Zeese and Missy, and three dogs, Penny, Dandi and Cookie. During the 19 years Myrna lived on the Eastern Shore, her magnetic and outgoing personality attracted many loyal and loving friends. The older she got, the more friends she made. She laughed, joked, teased and warmed her way into their hearts. Her independent spirit was evident in every facet of her life. She rarely asked for help because help was freely and frequently offered. Myrna will be greatly loved, missed and remembered as the best mom and an inspiring role model. She is survived by daughters Beverly Sue Wright of Edgewater, MD, and Marlene Lois Stein (Lawrence) of Silver Spring, MD; son Norman Kenneth Wright (Dr. Angela Howell) of Jonesboro, AR; grandsons (Maxwell and Nicholas Stein, and Jacob Wright); sister Harriet Dodd (Don), niece Michele Doran (Bob), nephews Dr. Steven Rotter (Dr. Fran Rotter) and Larry Rotter (Andrea), and cousin Dr. Marc Klein (Robin). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 at 2:00pm at the Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury, MD with a visitation one hour prior to the service officiated by Rabbi Arnold Bienstock. Interment will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2020 at 1:00pm at King David Memorial Gardens, Falls Church, VA officiated by Rabbi Sunny Schnitzer. Arrangements are in the care of Holloway Funeral Home, PA, 501 Snow Hill Road, Salisbury, MD 21804. In lieu of flowers and in grateful recognition of the supportive and loving care Myrna and family received, donations to https://coastalhospice.org/make-a-donation/ would be deeply appreciated.
