Obituary of Marilyn Campbell

Marilyn O. Campbell, 85, of Salisbury, died Thursday, April 14, 2011. Mrs. Campbell was born October 31, 1925 in Davenport, IA, to the late John and Esther Kydd Oakes. At a young age she started painting with oils and later with water colors. After raising her family she enrolled in all art courses that were offered at Salisbury University. She was a founding member of the Attic Artists and an active member of the Art Institute and Gallery. Her family and friends will miss her for her generous spirit, sense of humor and strong support. Her grandchildren will always cherish the special love she had for them. She is survived by her husband,William R. Campbell of Salisbury; her children and their spouses: Susan & Victor Jensen of Salisbury, William R. & Debbie Campbell, Jr. of Salisbury, James O. & Giulia Campbell of Berlin and John M. & Cathi Campbell of Annapolis; her granchildren: Mike, Chris, Bill III, Michelle, Jessica, Steve, Taylor, Jordan, Lindley and Clara and a great-granddaughter, Ivy. Preceding her in death was a brother, John C. Oakes II and a sister, Kathleen Young. All services will be private. Memorial donations may be made to Coastal Hospice, P.O.
