Obituary of Sandra Phillips Shockley

Sandra "Sandy" Phillips Shockley, 78, of Pocomoke City, passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born on March 20, 1941 in Salisbury, MD, she was the daughter of the late William and Myrtle Mason Phillips.

She was a graduate of Pocomoke High School and was a dedicated worker for the Worcester County Board of Education, retiring as the cafeteria manager at the Pocomoke Elementary School. She had been an active member of the Pocomoke Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary for 20 years until her health declined and limited her participation. She then served as a honorary member for 22 years.  She was also a member of Salem United Methodist Church in Pocomoke City.

Sandy is survived by her daughter, Robyn S. Pettit and her husband Jeffrey; one grandson, Joshua Griffin all of Pocomoke City, MD; one brother-in-law, Ronald Shockley of Tampa, FL and one sister-in-law, Marilyn Levy and her husband Tracey of Greenwood, DE.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Frank Shockley.

A funeral service, officiated by Rev. Robert Blevins, will be held on Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City, where family and friends will gather one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the First Baptist Church Cemetery in Pocomoke City, MD.
