Obituary of Christine Gale Walker
Christine (Tina) Gale Walker of Bivalve, MD. passed away on April, 2nd 2019 at Coastal Hospice By The Lake in Salisbury, MD surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Wilmington, Ohio, Tina was a nanny for the children of John and Robin
Holloway, Jenna and Jonathan. Prior to being a nanny Tina worked as a vendor selling many arts and crafts things that she handmade herself along with all the great finds she would discover at yard sales and flea markets. Tina began her working career as a waitress. She worked at Pappy’s Pizza in Salisbury, MD. with a few of her sisters and friends. Mostly the Salisbury locals knew her either as Mrs. Kay’s daughter or the little short girl with really long hair in the dining room of English’s Family Restaurant on South Salisbury Blvd. Tina worked there for over 18 years along with her mother and daughter. Tina took great pride in all she did rather it was work or family related.
Tina taught her family that family came first. Her and her husband, David were married for 45 years. They renewed their vows on their 20th and 40th anniversaries. They met as kids and vowed to never be apart. They instilled the values of marriage and loyalty to their children, grandchildren and to all that knew them. David was by his wife's side everyday and when she began her battle with cancer he dedicated his days to taking care of her every need. Of all the legacies Tina will leave behind, most us of us will cherish our yearly tradition the most, Mom-Mom’s Christmas Eve. After Tina’s mother passed in 1995 Tina stepped up, accepted and continued this tradition with grace for the next 24 years. We knew that no matter where you were or what you were doing, you were to be there 6:30 Christmas Eve. This is where our family gathered elbow to elbow reconnecting, sharing memories and making new ones. Kids gathered on the floor with their toys while the sound of Christmas music and Santa village trains playing in the background.
Tina is survived by her husband of 45 years, David L. Walker, Sr., One Son, David L.
Walker, Jr. and his wife Sara K. Walker. One daughter Billy J. Colston and her husband Todd V. Colston. Four grandchildren, James (Russell) Richardson, Jr., Mia M. Gasque, William S. Owens and David L. Walker III. Three Great grandchildren, William D. Gasque, Myles R. McGinnis and Presley B. Jones. Two Sisters, Cheryl R. Culberson, Rose (Vicky) Bishop and one brother Joseph (Joe)L. Bishop. Being the baby of 11, Tina had several nieces and nephews along with several great nieces and nephews that she dearly cherished. Tina was preceded in death by her Mother, Catherine L. Ward and her father Calvin H. Bishop, Sr. One daughter, Tiffany Walker, four brothers, James Bishop, Melvin Bishop, Calvin H. Bishop, Jr. and George (Ronnie) Bishop. Three sisters, Mary (Theresa) Donoway, Joyce A. Weisenberger and Patricia (Patsy) R. Merrell and one niece, Bobby Jo Keene.
