Obituary of Robert C. Yeakle

Robert Carl Yeakle peacefully passed away on Tuesday January 8, 2019, in Salisbury MD surrounded by his loving family.


Carl was born in Little Cove, PA., on August 3, 1929, the son of Myrtle Yeakle (Brubaker) and William Ernest Yeakle. He spent much of his adolescent years in Hancock, MD.

Carl was honorably discharged from the United States Army in 1948.  He was employed in the beverage industry most of his life. He bottled and distributed Frosty Root-beer. Worked for RC Cola during his career. He was the plant manager for Pepsi Cola of Annapolis until his retirement in 1989. Carl was an avid boater and longtime member of the Maryland Cruising Club and Maryland Yacht Club.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Elizabeth Boyd Yeakle, He is also survived by his grandson, William Edward Pelot III (Tres), his great granddaughter Tenley Elizabeth Pelot and her mother Kimberly Ann Pelot all of Salisbury MD. In addition, his two sisters Vivian Graham of Berkeley Springs, WV and June Himes of Williamsport, MD, and a nephew Kevin Graham of Hagerstown, MD. He was preceded in death by his only daughter Donna Kay Christian.

The family would like to express its deepest thanks and appreciation to the staff of professionals and volunteers of Coastal Hospice for the loving care and kindness shown to Carl and his family during this time.
Also, they would like to express thanks to Coastal Home Care for the kindness and passion in their help in caring for Carl and his wife over the past couple of years.

Services will be held Tuesday January 15, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Coastal Hospice, P O Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
