Obituary of Peggy Wilson

Peggy Parks Wilson, 75, of Salisbury, died on Sunday, July 1, 2018 peacefully at Atria Senior Living.  Born on May 17, 1943 in Wardtown, VA, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Mildred Richards Parks.

Peggy graduated from Northampton High School, class of 1961. Following her high school graduation, she attended Longwood College, where she received her bachelor's degree in education in 1965.  Peggy then attended Salisbury State College, where she earned her master's degree. She was employed with Wicomico County Board of Education, where she retired in 2005. In 1988, Peggy was named Wicomico County Teacher of the Year. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and playing bridge.

Peggy is survived by her son, William Bruce Wilson III and his wife Lori of Newark, DE; her daughter, Julia Wilson LoNigro and her husband Matthew of Miller Place, NY; two grandsons, Brendan Wilson and Matthew LoNigro; three granddaughters, Riley Wilson, Reese Wilson, and Abigail LoNigro; a sister, Betty Parks Allen and her husband Harry, as well as several nephews and a niece.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William Bruce Wilson, Jr., and a brother, Howard Parks.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 6, 2018 at 5:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury.  A visitation will be held on Friday evening one hour prior to the service.  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at 11 am at Belle Haven Cemetery in Belle Haven, VA.

In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in Peggy's honor to the COPD Foundation, 1140 3rd Street NE, 2nd floor, Washington, DC 20002.
