Obituary of James Farley

James Donald Farley, 88, of Salisbury, died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  Born in Huff Creek, WV, he was the son of the late James Dewey Farley and Eupha Cook Farley.

Don, also known to many as Jim, was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a retired Wicomico County teacher.  He was employed by the BEE Federal Credit Union where he has been treasurer since 1968.  He was a member of the Wicomico Presbyterian Church where he had formerly served on the Board of Deacons, Board of Trustees and the Mission Committee.

Don is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mona Nicely Farley; his daughter, Karen Bennie; his son and daughter-in-law, Kevin and Tammy Farley; granddaughters, Caitlin and Emily Farley; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Vance; and a brother, Paul Farley.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 5, 2018 at 11:00 am at the Wicomico Presbyterian Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held at 2:00 pm at the Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.  Officiating will be Pastor Maggie Gillespie.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Wicomico Presbyterian Church for the soup kitchen fund, 129 Broad St., Salisbury, MD 21801 and or the Meals on Wheels program at MAC, Inc., 909 Progress Circle, Salisbury, MD 21804.
