Obituary of George Martin Miller

George M. Miller of Salisbury MD, formerly of Bryn Athyn PA passed away on May 29, 2018 at the age of 82.  He was born on July 26, 1935 to Mary and Harrye Miller, he attended Academy of the New Church in Bryn Athyn for all 12 school years before graduating.  George graduated from Penn State University, became a CPA and established his own accounting firm in Salisbury Maryland.

Although he grew up only 5 minutes from his future wife, he did not meet her until they attended Penn State together.  Beloved husband of Anne Hallowell Miller for 58 years and devoted father of Elaine Miller Reed and Linda Miller Filipp, he was predeceased by his son Glen W Miller in 2016 and his son-in-law Keith Joseph Filipp in 2017.  Survived by granddaughters Megan Filipp Dunleavy (Sean), Kara Filipp, a niece and many cousins.  He leaves behind many longtime friends in Salisbury MD and Bryn Athyn PA.

A lifelong golfer and member of Green Hill Country Club, golfing was a passion for George as was sailing.  An avid Penn State alumnus, he never missed a Penn State football game.  George and Anne sponsored the flamingo exhibit at the Salisbury Zoo where he was a longtime volunteer.  George also served as a US Army reservist and will be remembered for his hearty laugh and kind spirit – fire and forget.

Memorial Services will be private by the family. Friends and loved ones are encouraged to join George’s family for an open house on Monday June 4, 2018, from 11 AM – 1 PM at Salisbury University Alumni House and Gardens 1120 Camden Avenue Salisbury, MD.
