Obituary of Margaret Harrington

Margaret Ann Harrington, 93, of Willards, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 28, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family.   Born in Washington DC, she was the daughter of the late, Thomas Joseph Flynn and Anna Marie Cannon Flynn.

She attended Holy Cross Academy and Strayer College, and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church.  For the past twenty years of her life, she loved living on her daughter’s farm in Willards.  Ann became interested in art late in life and especially enjoyed the outdoors, bird watching, and traveling to the beach.  Ann loved spending time with her 2 dogs, "Holly" & "Spud", and her cat, "Oscar".  She was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother.

Margaret is survived by her six children, Robert F Harrington of Dagsboro, DE, James Edward Harrington & his wife, Marie of Roxana, DE, Thomas Joseph Harrington & his wife, Janice of Cooksville, MD, Maureen Cathell & her husband, Wayne of Berlin, Kathleen Porterfield & her husband, Rick of Madisonville, TN, and Margaret Anne Luke & her husband, Michael of Willards; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband in 2009, Robert G Harrington who served in the Merchant Marines during WW II; and siblings, Thomas, James, Jack, Robert, Bernard Flynn and Mary Fox.

  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 1, 2018, 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury with a visitation one hour prior to the service.  Interment will be held following at 1:00 pm at the Eastern Shore Maryland Veteran Cemetery near Hurlock, MD.
