Obituary of Preston Richardson, Jr.

Preston "Steve" Stephen Richardson, 74, of Tyaskin, died on Friday, May 4, 2018, peacefully at Peninsula Regional Medical Center.  Born on September 18, 1943 in Salisbury, MD, he was the son of the late Preston and Mildred Layfield Richardson.

Steve served as a Private First Class with the United State Marine Corps, where he received his honorable discharge after being wounded during the Vietnam War. He spent most of his life as a truck driver. Steve also loved working as waterman. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed cooking. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.  

Steve is survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah Richardson, three sons, Preston S. Richardson III and his fiancĂ© Megan Goodyear, Thomas P. Richardson and his wife Lisa and J. Russell Richardson and his wife Kenna; a daughter, Lisa V. Richardson; three grandsons, James Bruce, Russell Richardson, and Derek  Richardson; three granddaughters, Miranda Glenn and her husband Steven, Alisha Richardson, and Emily Richardson; two great-grandsons, Aiden Glenn and Owen Glenn; a sister, Mary Ellen Sawant and her husband Anil; as well as two nieces, Dawn Sarels and Tina Norton and a Nephew, Edward Henson.

In addition to his parents, Steve is preceded in death by two sister, Charlotte Piper and Lanta Tyre.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 11:00 am at Holloway Funeral Home in Salisbury.  A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.  Rev. Leto will officiate.  Interment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
