Obituary of Margaret Gage

Margaret Gerow Gage, 92, of Salisbury, died on Wednesday, January 24, 2018, at BayCare at Sarah, Margaret and Mollie’s.  Born on February 17, 1925 in Newburgh, NY, she was the daughter of the late Lyman and Marion Howell Gerow.

 

Margaret worked for 10 years as an Avon Representative. She was a member of Faith Baptist Church and Fellowship Baptist Church.  During her time at Faith Baptist Church she was active in the music ministry and sang in the choir.  Margaret was devoted to her husband, Richard, and to her family, and found great strength in her faith.  Her last words best capture how she lived, “Praise God”.

 

Margaret is survived by three children: John G. Gage and his wife Ruth of Bakersfield, CA, Robert R. Gage and his wife Jackie of Delmar, DE and Ruth Elaine Schram and her husband Scott of Birmingham, AL.  She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Beckie Smith and her husband James and their 2 children, Brad Gage and his wife Lisa and their 3 children, Rachel Gage, Robert Gage and his wife Liliana and their son, Steven Gage and his wife Cheryl, Crystie Ewen and her husband Dan and their 3 children, and Celsie Staggers and her husband Robert and their daughter.

 

In addition to her parents, Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Richard John Gage, and two brothers: Deming and Howell Gerow.

 

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 29, 2018 in the chapel at Springhill Memory Gardens, Hebron, MD.

 

The family wishes to express gratitude to the caregivers who were so kind to their mother for 7 years at BayCare, and Coastal Hospice.
