Obituary of Betty Baker
Betty Lois Baker, 90, of Snow Hill, died on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at Harrison Senior Living of Snow Hill. Born on September 29, 1927 in Pottstown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clinton and Martha Good Black.
Betty worked at Weidema’s Laundromat, Pocomoke Florist, the Stoltzfus Plant Farm as well as general housekeeping for several people.
Betty is survived by her daughter, Nelsia Dawn (John) Kurtz of Girdletree, MD; her son, Paul Maynard (Fern) Baker of Bassett, VA; 8 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Leslie Baker, and two sons, Nathan Darwin Baker and Carmel Lee Baker.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, November 27, 2017 at 11:30 am at the Snow Hill Mennonite Church, 5927 Worcester Highway, Snow Hill, MD. A reception will follow in the church hall. Family and friends will gather for a visitation at the Holloway Funeral Home in Pocomoke City on Sunday, November 26, from 6-8 PM. Interment will be private in the Holly Grove Mennonite Cemetery in Westover, MD.
