Obituary of Lucille Corso
Lucille Josephine Corso, 92, of Salisbury, passed away on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at Coastal Hospice At The Lake. Born in Jamestown, New York, she was the daughter of the late Salvatore "Sam" Lombardo and Salvatrice "Sallie" Vengenti Lombardo.
“Lucy” worked as a presser for the former Manhatten Shirt Factory for many years. She was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Happy Timers and a former member of the Willards Senior Center.
Lucille is survived by her devoted husband of 73 years, Anthony "Tony" J. Corso; two children, Jack A. Corso & his wife, Joan of FL and Carolyn L. Jones of AZ; two granddaughters, Jennifer Krauss & her husband, Jeffrey and Joanna Yapchanyk & her husband, Robert; a great granddaughter, Lily Yapchanyk; a sister, Ida Somers of Salisbury; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by 6 brothers, Charles, John, Joseph, Phillip, Michael and Ross Lombardo; and 3 sisters, Marion Cedars, Rose Koterwas, and Mary Trout.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2018, 11:00 am at the St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Entombment will follow at Wicomico Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 535 Riverside Dr., Salisbury, MD 21801 and or Coastal Hospice, P.O. Box 1733, Salisbury, MD 21802.
