Obituary of Carolyn Kniceley

Carolyn Bennett Kniceley, 84, passed away during the early morning hours on February 24, 2018 with her daughter Lisa by her side. Recently she had been under the care of Coastal Hospice.

Born in Salisbury, MD, she was the daughter of the late Alvie S. Bennett and Virginia Wilson Bennett. She found great joy in being a homemaker and mother.She stayed busy happily involved in her children's activities which includes school, sports, scouts,and music lessons among others.A graduate of of then Salisbury State Teachers College, class of 1955. She did substitute teaching as well as GED classes. She was employed as Volunteer Coordinator at Deer's Head Hospital as well as an employee of Rayner Bros. Nurseries.She also found time through the years to join friends in playing bridge, was an active member and leader of the Christian Women's Club and was a founding member of the Young Married Couples Sunday School class at Asbury United Methodist Church which became a source for some lifelong friends and relationships.  

 The latter part of her life she realized her dream of opening Golden Voyage Gift Shop with the help of her son, Bill in Fenwick Island, DE. She eventually came to  reside in Ocean City, Md. Upon sale of her business she volunteered to take over the running of the Pine Bluff Village shop in Salisbury, which she organized and managed weekly. Eventually building it to the point that it provided a monthly birthday party as well as holiday celebrations. Many wonderful wonderful friendships resulted from this demanding activity. 

Carolyn moved back to Salisbury to The Village of Harbor Pointe Assisted Living 4 years ago where again she enjoyed new friendships and activities. 

She is survived by her son, Bill and partner Kurtis of Pahoa, HI; her daughter, Lisa partner Donnie of Bethany Beach, DE; her sister Joni Jones; and her nieces Lori Thomas, Cathy Dyer, Julie Jones and Sheri Godfrey.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday March 12, 2018 at 11:00am at Harbor Pointe. A Celebration of Life will also be held on Saturday June 9, 2018 at a location yet to be determined. For information contact her daughter, Lisa.
