Obituary of Marilyn Bookmyer

Marilyn D. Bookmyer, 71, of Salisbury, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Coastal Hospice at The Lake.  Born on July 30, 1946, in Syracuse, NY, she was the daughter of the late Louis Discenza and Violet Moore Discenza.

Marilyn graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School in Dewitt, NY.  Later, she earned her associates degree in business. Marilyn owned and operated Salisbury Art and Framing for over 20 years. She enjoyed traveling, baking, jewelry making, art, and her beloved dogs.  

Marilyn is survived by two sons, Thomas W. Mader and his wife Melissa, and L. Jason Bookmyer and his wife Pamela; two grandsons, Alexander P. Mader and Nathan T. Bookmyer; two granddaughters, Katelyn A. Mader and Alexis M. Bookmyer; a brother, Richard Discenza and his wife Suzanne; two nephews, Dean W. Discenza and Ryan A. Discenza; as well as her first husband, William A. Mader.

In addition to her parents, Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband, Roger Lee Bookmyer.

A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, January 20, 2018, at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Salisbury, MD.  A visitation with the family will be held thirty minutes prior to the service.
