Obituary of Ruth Tawes
Ruth Tyler Tawes, of Crisfield, died December 2, 2017 at home in Delmar, MD. Born in Crisfield on April 5, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Lloyd James and Thelma Virginia Byrd Tyler.
She was a very active lady who loved life and family. Earlier in her life she earned an Associate degree and worked as secretary and was also a co-business owner. She was a faithful member of Trinity Church in Salisbury and St. John’s United Methodist’s Church. She was also an active member of the Happy Timers in Salisbury, MD.
Ruth was always on the go whether traveling or visiting with friends. She was a very busy lady and rarely sat still, no time to sleep as she had too much to do.
She is survived by her husband Preston Tawes of Delmar Md. her children, Lloyd Laird of Largo, Fla. son-in-law Richard Palmer also of Largo, Fla., Larry Laird and family of Hebron Md. Also survived by step-son Steve Tawes and wife Mary Lee of Florida. Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters Joyce Tyler Justice and Shelva Jean Evans. Along with her children she is survived by her nieces that she loved so much to include Sheila Milliner and children of Crisfield, Sherry Riggin and family of Crisfield, Shelly Wagner and family of Fenwick De., Terri Melbourne and family of Crisfield, Tammi Reynolds and family of Crisfield,and Traci Tyler and family of Crisfield.
Ruth choose cremation services by Holloway Funeral Home of Salisbury Md. and a memorial service will be held at St. John’s United Methodist’s Church in Fruitland, Md.
Memorial services will officiated by Pastors Bill Kniceley of Trinity Church and Karen Sadvari of St John’s and will be held on Saturday December 9th at 11:00am at St. John’s Methodist’s Church in Fruitland, Md.
