Obituary of Mary Dupont
Mary Laura Whittington Powell Dupont, 80, was led home by her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, November 23, 2017 from her Pocomoke City home, where she had been surrounded by loving family members. Born on November 8, 1937 in Baltimore City, MD, she was the daughter of the late George and Laura Kramer Whittington.
She loved dancing and music, especially Elvis Presley and Steve Perry. Just also loved “men in uniform” especially U.S. Marines. Her family will remember her as a loving mother and grandmother.
Mary is survived by three daughters, Delena Powell Yates-Coffin and her husband Robert Coffin of Delmar, MD, Tiffany Dupont Swift of Princess Anne, MD and Lisa Powell Krebs and her husband Chad of Pocomoke City, MD; seven grandchildren, Crystal, Shelby and Paul Yates; Walter, Bryan and Michael Brooks, and Tristan Merritt; one brother, Paul Whittington, Sr of Salisbury; one sister-in-law, Ruth Whittington of California and many extended family members.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, George Whittington, Jr. and one grandson, Phillip Yates,
A memorial service will be held at 3 PM on, Saturday, December 2, 2017 in the Abundant Life Apostolic Church, 110 Front Street, Pocomoke City, MD 21851. Pastor George Tasker will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the church one hour prior to the service for a visitation.
