Obituary of John Morris
John Thomas Morris, Sr., 92, of Salisbury, died on Sunday, November 19, 2017 at Delmar Manor. Born on August 15, 1925 in Washington, D.C., he was the son of the late John C. Morris and Norma Estella Bradshaw Morris.
Tom retired in 1980 as a Store Manager of Safeway Markets after 28 years of service in the Northern Virginia area. He served in the United States Army during World War II.
Mr. Morris was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus where he was a Fourth Degree Knight, VFW, American Legion and Elks. Tom was also a member of Rotary International and had perfect attendance for 38 years.
In addition to his parents, Tom is preceded in death by his first wife, Phyllis Hayes Trimble Morris who died in 1978 and a daughter, Tommie Sue Morris Kittrell.
Mr. Morris is survived by his wife, Anna Moylan Marcus Morris who he married December 1979; two children, John T. Morris, Jr. and his wife Paula of Falls Church, VA and Phyllis Ann (Pam) Love of Woodbridge, VA. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and a step-daughter, Diane Marcus Dillon and her husband Barney of State College, PA.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, Salisbury. Friends and family will call one hour prior to the service.
