Stanley Ray Pete, Sr., 59, of Salisbury, died peacefully on January 22, 2018 at his home after almost 2 years of battling lung cancer. Born on July 7, 1958 in Milford, DE, he was the son of the late Eugene and Dolores Dean Pete.
Loving husband, father and grandfather, Stanley was devoted to his family. In 2006, he started S.R. Pete & Sons, Inc. and remained President until his passing. Stanley loved being on the water and was an avid fisherman. Stanley was a long time sponsor of the Chesapeake Cowboys Boat Docking and the Delaware International Speedway. He also enjoyed hunting. He was a member of the Delmarva Umpire Association and was a Coach and Umpire for the Delmar Little League, Pony League and Colt League for over 20 years.
Stanley is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Judy L. Pete; four children, Stanley Ray Pete, Jr. and his wife Katy, Crystal Lynn Foote and her husband Jimmy, Ashley Marie Calder and her husband Dan and Joseph Swain Pete. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Aubrey, James, Stanley III, Karsyn, Daniel, Lydia, Chase; a granddaughter expected in March, Avery; and a sister, Joyce Pete.
In addition to his parents, Stanley is preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Joseph Pete, Jr..
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held from 12:30 PM – 2:00 PM. Rev. Mike Rittenhouse will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stephens Cemetery in Delmar.
