Karen Lynn Potts, 46, of Salisbury, died on Thursday, January 4, 2018 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. Born in Salisbury on September 15, 1971, she was the daughter of Gail Cropper Potts of Salisbury and the late William R. Potts, Jr.
Karen attended Wicomico High School and was a client at Lower Shore Enterprises for over 20 years. Karen participated in the Friendship Club for many years and loved the friends she made and the activities they held. She also participated in Best Buddies, a national program for individuals with special needs, through Salisbury University. She also enjoyed attending summer camp at Camp Fairlee Manor in Chestertown. She was an avid Shorebirds fan and will be missed by the entire Shorebirds family. She enjoyed movies, books, puzzles, bingo and most importantly, people.
In addition to her father, Karen is preceded in death by her grandparents, Calvin and Eleanor Cropper and William and Lois Potts; and her aunt, Linda Potts Valentine.
Karen is survived by her mother, Gail Cropper Potts of Salisbury; her best friend her Havanese dog, Champ; a special friend and caregiver, Lenora Dashiell; aunts and uncles, William and Shirley Cropper of Salisbury, Tom and Joan Potts of Exmore, VA, David and Sharon Potts of Chesapeake, VA, Lisa and Steve Murray of La Plata, MD, Lori and Ben Blackmon of Dublin, OH and William H. Valentine of Accomack, VA; and many cousins and second cousins who were a very special part of Karen’s life.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Rev. Bill Sterling will officiate. Burial will be in Wicomico Memorial Park.
