Doris Marie Archibald, 97, of Berlin, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2018 at Coastal
Hospice At The Lake. Born in the Bronx, NY, she was the daughter of the late Alfred Ganter
and Anna Bauer Ganter.
She was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Berlin. Prior to this, she had a life-long
devotion to her church in NJ. She enjoyed crafts and traveling, and was an active volunteer at
Gull Creek and the Church Mouse Thrift Store in Berlin, MD. She particularly treasured
memories of her years in New York, New Jersey and as a newlywed who joined her 2nd
lieutenant husband as he trained in various Army Air Force schools during WWII.
Doris is survived by her 3 children, Lynne A. Peverley (Malcolm) of Salisbury, Amy A. Notte
(William) of Deland, FL, and Russell Archibald of Paterson, NJ; 5 grandchildren, Ned
(Gretchen) Peverley, Evan (Michelle) Peverley, Bill (Burcu) Notte, Michael (Lisa) Notte, and
David Notte; and 8 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert Edward
Archibald; a grandchild, Andrew Peverley; and a sister, Gladys McKinnon.
The family will conduct a private memorial service and will also have an interment with a
celebration of life at a later date at St. Alban’s Episcopal Church in Salisbury.
