Grace Hazel ""Hazel"" Vouros
Grace “Hazel” Vouros, 104, of Salisbury, died on Saturday, September 30, 2017, peacefully at Wicomico Nursing Home. Born on May 6, 1913 in Virginia, she was the daughter of Charles and Grace Cunningham Fletcher.
Hazel was very active in her community managing many of her real estate properties in Maryland, DC, and Virginia. She was the first volunteer to complete 1,000 hours and 25 years of service at PRMC. Hazel enjoyed crocheting and loved playing Bingo. Most of all her real passion was to do for others. She was a member of the Wicomico Womans’ Club for over 25 years, Oak Ridge Church, where she was a trustee and currently First Baptist Church in Fruitland.
Hazel is survived by two daughters, Eftalia (James) Cummins and Mary (George) Ashley; a son, George (Ronda) Vouros; Three Grandsons, Brett (Erica) Cummins, John Vouros, Robert (Abbey) Ashley; Four Granddaughters, Christina (Fernando) Vouros, Andrea Vouros, Alexis Vouros, Heidi Pottenko (William) as well 6 great grandchildren.
Besides her parents, Hazel is preceded by her husband John V. Vouros and a sister, Lucille Demeritt.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Holloway Funeral Home, Salisbury. A visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. Reverend Dale Vroman will officiate. Burial will be in Wicomico Memorial Park in Salisbury.
In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or First Baptist of Fruitland.
