Obituary for Edward Arden Dickerson III

Edward Arden Dickerson III
Edward Arden Dickerson, III, 60, of Fruitland, passed away on Monday, September 4, 2017 at Peninsula Regional Medical Center in Salisbury. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he was the son of the late Edward Arden Dickerson, Jr. and Eileen Marie Murphy Dickerson.

“Ed” was a member of the Wicomico Yacht Club (Past Commodore), and Asbury United Methodist Church. Over the tenure of his 35+ year career, he continued to build the family business known as Tri State General until selling in 2007. During this time he was very active in a various number of industry affiliations such as, AAMGA, NAPSLO, NAGA, CIC, and the Salisbury Chamber of Commerce. More recently he served as the Area President of RPS Insurance.

He was always very proud of being an athlete; completing 25+ triathlons, a half marathon and several century bike rides….he was always looking for a new athletic challenge. He also enjoyed boating, golfing, camping, “RV”ing, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his loving wife of 9 years, Brenda Dickerson; Son, Steven and his wife Christina Dickerson of Salisbury and their children Marissa and Zach; Daughter, Michelle Howard & her husband Kyle of Fruitland and their daughter Abbey; two step-sons: Douglas Church of Washington DC and David Church and his wife, Ashley of Salisbury and their sons Camden and Beckett; 2 sisters: Pat Domjan of Lisle, IL, and Eileen "Bebe" Giuffre & husband, Mike of Downers Grove, IL; 2 brothers: Brian Dickerson and his wife, Karen of Spotsylvania, VA, and Jimmy Dickerson of Mechanicsville, VA; and the mother of his children: Patricia Dickerson of Salisbury; and their special dog, “Maggie Mae”.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his sisters, Kathy Ellmaker and Theresa Dickerson.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, September 8, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Asbury United Methodist Church in Salisbury with Rev. Dr. Benita Harris officiating. There will be a visitation from 9:00 – 11:00 am in the Mackey Parlor at Asbury.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to Asbury U.M.C. Outreach Ministries, 1401 Camden Avenue, Salisbury, MD 21801.
