The Memorial Candle Program has been designed to help offset the costs associated with the hosting this Tribute Website in perpetuity. Through the lighting of a memorial candle, your thoughtful gesture will be recorded in the Book of Memories and the proceeds will go directly towards helping ensure that the family and friends of Donald Dayton can continue to memorialize, re-visit, interact with each other and enhance this tribute for future generations.

Thank you.

Condolences

Condolence From: Lisa Adkins-Marshall
Condolence: Donald was my first employer, summer of -72 Daytons at N.Div. and 1st on the boardwalk in OC. He trained me on customer service that prepared me better than anyone could for a successful future. What I learned: Never ask an employee to do something you are not willing to do. Anticipate the customers needs. Show up on time, have pride in your work. The list could go on. When a couple walked in for breakfast, shortly after we opened (early!) He said: Get over to that table and close the venetion blinds, can't you see the sun is going to hit them in the face? I said "They haven't even sat down yet." He said: "That's the point, they will in a minute." Thank you Donald and Anna and family for giving so much to so many. Lessons that have been of value all my life. Donald's not gone, but Gone Ahead.

Condolence: I am sorry to hear of Mr. Dayton's passing. I send my prayers to the family at this time. My aunt Almira Dickinson and I ate MANY meals @ Dayton's while Mr. Donald and Anna were there! We continued to be regulars after the sale of the place and would see Mr. Donald in from time to time. I still try to eat there when I can get in town as they have the recipe for the chicken!!! I'm sorry I won't be able to attend the service as my annual leave balance is low.
